Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT) is a program designed to bridge the gap between senior citizens and law enforcement. The ultimate goal of the Ontario Provincial Police in Southern Frontenac is to address issues and concerns that involve health and safety and crime prevention among our growing population of seniors.
Registering for an event is easy! Just make a free account by clicking the button below.
SALT is made up of a group of community minded individuals who volunteer their time to plan and organize events with the OPP. Some of the topics we cover are:
- seniors and driving
- medication management,
- mental health,
- isolation during COVID-19
- snowbirds and travel
- fire prevention
- vaccinations
- Power of Attorney, Comfort Care / DNR documents, Wills and financial statements.
The local SALT Council determines the needs of the community’s senior population as they relate to crime prevention and safety awareness, and coordinates activities to meet those needs. We endeavor to find ways to minimize the difficulties seniors face in a changing world. Working together, we try to find ways to provide information to older adults in South Frontenac.
